It was 1994 when I met a boy named Jose Lloyd Lunes. Cute sana..kaso super BULLY at puro kalokohan. We were classmates since 4th grade but we were never friends, kase nga bully. I remember during 6th grade, magkatabi pa kame kaya lalo akong naging victim ng pagkabully nya. Imagine yourself with a bully seatmate every day, pag di kaba naman nabwisit diba? We’re like “bullymates”, ika nga. After elementary, di na kame nagkita. When we found out that we were working in the same company, we exchanged emails, mga twice or thrice pero ganun lang.

After 13 years, we saw each other again during our class reunion. He’s not the same childish and bully person na nakilala ko. Sabi ko nga, “si Jose Lloyd ba talaga to?” Of course palabiro pa din and palatawa but he had matured, tinernohan nya pa yun ng balbas at bigote. Hehe!
During the first reunion, deadma pa, ‘coz I was still in a commitment. Fortunately, nagkaron ulit ng get together yung class namen and this time everything was on the right place. Eto na siguro yung tinatawag na perfect timing. After that event, we had constant communication then we started hanging out. But the plan would always be for the three of us (including my bestfriend, Rose Lyn). Kaso lage syang busy kaya ayun, kame na lang dalawa ang lumalabas (buti na lang :D)
I found him very kind and gentleman, malayo sa Lloyd na kilala ko noon. Narealize na lang namen, araw araw na pala kame magkatext at lage na pala kame lumalabas na kaming dalawa lang. Until we came to a point when we did not know where we stand in the relationship. “Kame naba?” We know we like each other (why would we go out, if not). Ika nga, formality na lang ang kulang.

Then finally, last March 14, 2011, he got the courage to ask! (medyo pinush ko lang ng konti..hahaha!) We were at the Sky Garden in Trinoma then. I will not tell exactly how the conversation went but the bottom line is..When he asked, “tayo naba?” I said, “YES!” That was one of our happiest days!
May 2012, he asked my hand for marriage. Pero nkakatawa kase ang casual lang. No flowers, no ring, or any preparation. He just said, “lika punta tayo ng simbahan, paschedule na tayo para sa kasal”. Ako naman, “sige tara!” Hahaha! I admit I would have preferred it to be more romantic, movie like scenario. Pero naisip ko, ang mahalaga, pinaramdam nya saken na sa maikling panahon sigurado na sya na ako ang gusto nya makasama habang buhay. We got married in October 27,2012, and after almost a year, we had our little daughter Zaina.

Whenever I reminisce how destiny brought us together, I can’t help but smile. A special person came into my life. I thought he’s just going to remain in the past but he came back. Now he’s my present and definitely my future and forever.
